How did you get involved in Daikin Applied South Florida and your role? – I was offered this opportunity that was both scary and exciting at the same time, since the McQuay was not well known. I could honestly say I have watched this company grow from infancy to be a huge contender in the HVAC industry. As a Project Engineer, I am involved in almost every aspect from design, selections, execution and project management, to close outs. I’ve watched how VRV has taken over the market over conventional equipment.
What are your memorable moments with Daikin Applied South Florida?
– I love the fact the company still has a family feel to it. We bounce ideas off each other, confide in each other and support each other like a family. There’s a great sense of understanding and acceptance with this team and that feeling goes a very long way.

How do you see the direction with this industry? – As an Hispanic women, in a generally male dominated field in both engineering and construction, it is always a challenge to be on top of your game and always trying to prove yourself. I think we’re being underestimated but slowly recognized and acknowledged for what we do. It’s refreshing to see other female professionals in the field.
