Daikin Applied South Florida Showcases B Ocean Hotel Installation
The Daikin Applied South Florida office showcased the B Ocean Hotel VRV installation to several dozen contractors on November 16, 2016. The B Ocean Hotel is located at 1140 Seabreeze Boulevard in Ft. Lauderdale and posed some challenges during renovations due to the building’s design, whose physical shape resembles a cruise ship.
The flexibility of the Daikin VRV system eliminated the need for duct trunk lines and conserved space while providing improved comfort and energy efficiency compared to the existing water-source heat pump equipment and PTAC units. “One example is the B Ocean Hotel where Daikin Water Cooled VRV systems were used to accommodate the architects and designer’s vision of open spaces and high ceilings.” Tedd conducted a brief presentation on Daikin as a company, a product overview and the benefits of utilizing VRV technology in new construction.
Tours of the mechanical room and meeting spaces were conducted after the presentation. A total of 13 water-cooled VRV condensing units piped to 30 fan coils are controlled by a Daikin iTM controller.
